The Gulmarg Gondola carries you from the meadow up through snow covered slopes to high alpine terrain, with panoramic views of the surrounding peaks and valleys the whole way. The ride is divided into two phases so you can choose the experience that suits your group, the season and the weather on the day. The Two Phases
You can ride Phase 1 on its own, or continue up to Apharwat Peak on Phase 2.
Phase 1 — Gulmarg to Kongdoori
Top station approx. 3,080 m / 10,100 ft
The first stage lifts you from the Gulmarg base station up to the Kongdoori valley. It is the gentler of the two rides and the one most families and first-time visitors start with. Kongdoori is where the sledge runs, beginner ski slopes and snack stalls are, so it works well as a half-day outing on its own.

- Runs more often than Phase 2 and is less weather-sensitive

Phase 2 — Kongdoori to Apharwat Peak
Top station approx. 3,980 m / 13,050 ft
The second stage carries on from Kongdoori towards Apharwat Peak, one of the highest points you can reach by cable car anywhere in the region. The views open out across the Pir Panjal range, and on a clear day the ridgeline beyond the Line of Control is visible. This is also the launch point for advanced skiing and snowboarding descents.
